Eco Auto Inc. is a new kind of car store. We sell cars (and scooters, too) that are very well built, very energy efficient, take up very little space, and are made by very good companies.

Some of our cars and scooters run on gas, while some run on electricity. All are fun to drive, and they look nice too.

Our cars and scooters are designed for commuting and running errands. All those trips when you don't really need to take the big car. After all, you wouldn't use a large stockpot to boil a cup of ramen noodles, would you?

Our little cars are for people who think big. Big thoughts, like our country's continuing dependency on foreign oil, the rising price of gas, global warming, air pollution, and why 90% of the big cars and trucks driving around are carrying only one person.
Our cars are for people who wonder why the largest car company in America stopped selling their electric car, even though people loved driving them. Or why oil lobbyist in Washington have so much influence on national energy policy. People who think petroleum gas cars should not be the only option, or that a gallon ought to get them much further than it does.

On September 28, 2006 we opened our showroom on Main Street in downtown Bozeman, Montana. It caused a bit of a stir:

Eco Auto specializes in "green" personal transportation alternatives. Over the past year, we carefully investigated all of the alternative vehicles available in the US. Then we wittled away the ones that didn't meet our expectations. We believe driving a "sustainable vehicle" shouldn't mean having to make compromises.

Our selection includes the Mercedes-Benz smart fortwo, the revolutionary European 2-seater that gets up to 60 miles to the gallon. The smart car is an irresistably lovable (and nimble) car, a best seller in 36 countries from Canada to Japan to Australia. More than 750,000 smart cars have sold worldwide since 1998, but until now, they've not been availalbe in the US. It's taken over 3 years for all the U.S. regulatory agencies to approve the "Americanized" smart car, and our efforts finally paid off. Here's what 500 smart cars look like, having just come off the boat from Germany.

In addition to smart cars, we are the only authorized dealer in the Northern Rockies for the new all-electric ZENN (Zero Emissions, No Noise). The ZENN is a 2 seat car categorized by the government as an NEV or "Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. It's in the film "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and won the gold medal in the 2006 Michelin "Challenge Bibendum," an internationally recognized event promoting sustainable vehicle technologies. It is permitted by law to go up to 25 MPH on public streets rated up to 35 MPH. Here's a shot of ZENN cruising through a subdivision in Arizona.

We also sell the all-electric Evader scooter, a handsome and fun to ride full-sized motor bike designed by former Boeing engineers. It's a very affordable (and very quiet) way to get from here to there without using gas.
