"SubiEVee" 2008 Subaru Forester Sport AWD EV Conversion

This conversion was designed as a "proof of concept" show vehicle for ski resorts and other winter applications. It retains the stock Subaru 5-Speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive system. Starting with a brand new metallic black 2008 Subaru Forester "Sport" purchased new from Subaru, we carefully removed the combustion engine components (engine, radiator, exhaust system, gas tank, etc). The car was sent to AutoPilot Engineering in Bozeman Montana for CAD design and CNC fabrication of a custom aluminum electric motor / transmission adapter with mounting system for the Azure Dynamics AC55 AC motor. The car was then transported in an enclosed trailer to Gordon Ormesher's EV conversion shop near Spokane, Washington. There, Ormesher designed, fabricated and installed front and rear battery mounting systems, the Azure DMOS controller, inverter and other conversion components and systems. The car is now available as a nearly completed "as-is" project vehicle. Requires battery pack, charger, heater and if desired, air conditioner. The battery boxes were designed for group 22 Deka lead Acid AGM batteries. Alternately, the battery frames can be modified to accomodate a Lithium pack by Highpower or Thundersky. Over $45,000 invested to date. Estimated cost to complete - $5-15K, depending on battery/charger/heater system chosen. Can connect with EV converters who will complete. Reasonable offers considered.
